The grapes used in our Family Reserve Pinot Noir are those sourced exclusively from our most established Quails' Gate Estate vineyard. This Pinot Noir is a blend of the best barrels from 4 separate batches of Pinot Noir. A low Yielding season combined with a wonderfully warm summer had delivered a dense, structured, deeply sumptuous, velvet textured wine with great intensity and power. The lush flavors were carefully extracted with extended maceration where the wine spent 21 to 28 days in contact with the grape skins. Complete malolactic fermentation soften the wine as it spent 11 months ageing in fine Burgundian oak barrels. This Pinot Noir is very cellar worthy with ageing potential of 5-8 years and patience will be rewarded with complexity and intrigue.
